As reported by a Hummer Chat forum user who works for the organization that bought the electric brute, they are wanting to auction it off via Barrett-Jackson at forthcoming Palm Beach or Las Vegas events.
"Our company purchased the VIN#1 Hummer EV SUV at Barrett in Scottsdale," he wrote. "Tread Lightly, the charity organization that the funds went to, aligns well with our company and we were excited to participate with them, however, the Hummer should go to a true enthusiast or collector. I spoke with GM late last week and the vehicle is built. We are in the process of title transfer and getting the vehicle shipped."
The forum user shared that the Electric Hummer has been registered in Arizona, and its current owners are open to a "reasonable offer" for it. Additionally, this Edition 1 version of the vehicle stands out with its unique Moonshot Green Matte paint.
First Production 2024 GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV Raises $500,000 for Tread Lightly! at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction on Jan. 28, 2023.
The owner will likely not make back the $500,000 investment in the Edition 1 Hummer EV Pickup, but should expect some attractive offers. We have observed several examples of this model selling for more than $200,000 - so a similar price point is possible.
Being the inaugural example of its kind and having VIN 001 as its designation is sure to give it a competitive edge.
Surprisingly, the SUV version of the Hummer EV sold for a significantly lower amount at auction than its pickup sibling. The latter was purchased by an individual in 2021 for $2.5 million! While it's odd that someone opted to part ways with this first-ever production model of the Hummer EV SUV, what matters is that a charity received monetary support from its sale. Additionally, this remarkable vehicle will now be cherished and cared for by another lucky family who can appreciate all of its features and functions.
