Chery Automotive Group, based in China, unveils the production version of its T-X concept that will be framed as a Jetour Traveller SUV. This vehicle is accessible with plug-in hybrid powertrains and starts at an affordable price point of 149,800 yuan ($21,500).

The Traveller captures the boxy, SUV proportions of modern vehicles like the Land Rover Defender and Ford Bronco while blending in a hint of Kia EV9. The creative mastermind behind this exquisite design is Hakan Saracoglu - formerly from Porsche where he worked on renowned projects such as Cayman and 918 Spyder.

The SUV will launch in two versions - a shorter wheelbase with room for five passengers or an extended option that seats up to seven people. Stylish images unveiled today depict the car's modern, attractive interior featuring an upright dash and solid buttons.

Potential buyers will have a plethora of choices available under the hood. 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter and 2.0l turbo engines are all on offer from the Chinese automaker - plus two plug-in hybrid models designed with fuel economy in mind. Jetour is keeping its power ratings a secret for now, but the Traveller will be equipped with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox based on your chosen powertrain.
