Hyundai has announced new details about the 2024 Kona Electric. The Euro-spec model offers two battery configurations, with the Long Range option offering more range and performance. The vehicle boasts 400V technology and a range of advanced features.

Hyundai has announced its latest EV, the 2024 Kona Electric, with two battery options and increased range. The Euro-spec model will be available in two configurations: Standard Range and Long Range. The Standard Range comes with a 48.4 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces 154 hp (115 kW / 156 PS) and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque.

On the other hand, the Long Range version features a 65.4 kWh battery pack and an upgraded electric motor generating 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque, offering a range exceeding 304 miles (490 km) on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).

Apart from the battery capacities and performance specifications, the Kona Electric features 400V technology, enabling drivers to charge from 10% to 80% in just 41 minutes with a fast charger. It also has a new one-pedal driving mode, a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, and a drag coefficient of 0.27. Additionally, the vehicle comes with a battery preconditioning system, a new charging port door lamp, and a frozen charge door prevention system that operates at temperatures as low as -30° C (-22° F).

The exterior of the Kona EV boasts a unique "Pixelated Seamless Horizon Lamp" and "Pixel graphics." It has grown in size, being 6.9 inches (175 mm) longer than the previous model and sitting on a 2.4-inch (60 mm) longer wheelbase.
