Tesla has made a few changes to the Model S and Model X electric vehicles, and while the company does not believe in traditional model year updates, it hasn't stopped the company from introducing a handful of updates to the vehicles.
The most noticeable update is the addition of Ultra Red paint, which is now the only red option available for both the Model S and Model X. This new color option will set buyers back an additional $3,000 on top of the base price.
The company has also introduced a new glass roof that reportedly lets in five times more light, while still offering the same level of UV protection. Tesla claims that the roof is lighter and improves handling by helping to lower the center of gravity.
In terms of performance, the Plaid variants of the Model S and Model X come with improved brake pads that have a higher thermal capacity. Although there are no specifics at this point, these new pads should be a welcome addition, as the brakes can get extremely hot, especially on the Model S Plaid, which can go from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than two seconds and has a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h).

Lastly, Tesla will offer a traditional round steering wheel as a no-cost option for those who were turned off by the yoke. This could help make the models more appealing to those who prefer a more traditional steering wheel design.
The updated Model S will be priced from $89,990 and will climb to $109,990 for the Plaid variant. The Model X, on the other hand, will be priced at $99,990 or $109,990 for the Plaid version.
