The air conditioning system has a new "After-Blow" feature that reduces mold growth by automatically drying the evaporator and any condensate leftover in the air passage. Hyundai unveiled this technology in 2020, and it works by activating for 10 minutes after the engine is turned off and the condensate on the evaporator drains naturally for about 30 minutes. During this time, the air conditioning system automatically allows the influx of outside air to prevent humidity from building up.
To ensure that the After-Blow feature does not drain the battery completely, the updated Elantra has a sensor that can sense when the battery is running low. The system will not be activated when outside temperatures are low or when the air conditioning has not been used for an extended amount of time.
