The Lithuanian Armed Forces are training the Ukrainian military in the maintenance of M113 tracked armored personnel carriers, as reported by the press service of the Lithuanian army.

The Lithuanian military acquaints their Ukrainian colleagues with theoretical knowledge and demonstrates, in practice, the structure of the armored vehicle and its mechanical components. Lithuanians also teach the Ukrainian military how to repair the chassis and engine of the M113 APC both in the workshop and in the field.

According to the Lithuanian army, Lithuania has handed over 62 M113 armored personnel carriers and combat vehicles at its base to Ukraine.

"62 M113 armored personnel carriers from Lithuania and many from other countries are taking part in the fighting in Ukraine and, of course, they need constant care and quality maintenance," the statement said.

The military support provided by Lithuania to Ukraine includes a variety of weapons, ammunition, thermal imagers, drones, anti-drone weapons, and military training, among other things.

M113 APC

The M113 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) is a tracked military vehicle that was first introduced by the United States Army in 1960. It is a highly mobile, amphibious vehicle designed to transport infantry and other personnel in a combat zone. The M113 APC is heavily armored and can provide protection for its occupants from small arms fire, shrapnel, and other battlefield hazards.

The M113 APC has been used by the US military and many other countries around the world in a variety of roles, including as a command and control vehicle, ambulance, and cargo carrier. It has also been adapted for use as a mortar carrier, reconnaissance vehicle, and other specialized roles.

The M113 APC has been involved in many conflicts around the world, including the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the Iraq War. Despite being over 60 years old, the M113 APC remains in service with many military forces.
