The Toyota Hilux, a type of pickup truck, is often considered a toy for big boys. Adults enjoy customizing and driving these trucks for leisure. But, McDonald's in Japan is demonstrating that even children can have fun with their Hilux, with a miniature version designed for their little hands.

Recently, McDonald's Japan included the Toyota Hilux Tomica in their Happy Meal toys collection. They made the announcement with a video on YouTube, where the Hilux Tomica was seen in a child's imaginary world of giant burgers and French fries.

Toyota, Tomica, and McDonald's have been collaborating in Japan for a while now. In 2017, they released a McDonald's Happy Meal toy called the Toyota 86 McDonalds Racing Car, which could be obtained by exchanging a Tomica ticket from an issue of Mebae magazine.

In 2020, a Toyota GR Supra Tomica toy was released as part of the Happy Meal promotion. It was likely a popular choice among Japanese car enthusiasts.

Starting April 14, the Hilux Tomica McDonald's Happy Meal set will be available in Japan. It is uncertain whether other countries will have a similar Happy Meal set. However, if you want a similar Hilux toy, Hobby Link Japan can ship one for you with various options on its website.

It is worth mentioning that Toyota brought back the Hilux in Japan in 2017, after not offering the midsize truck in its home market since 2004. Interestingly, the first Hilux was introduced in Japan over 50 years ago in 1968.
