Tesla's Cybertruck has garnered much attention since its prototype was unveiled last month, particularly for its single, large windshield wiper. New drone footage of the electric truck now gives us a birds-eye view of how this feature may work in the final product.

The video, taken by YouTuber Brad Sloan and posted Thursday to YouTube, shows a prototype of the electric truck with its giant windshield wiper in action. An employee is also seen holding what appears to be a spray bottle — possibly water or some form of cleaning solution — while the single arm of the wiper moves across the window.

The large windshield wiper was added to the Cybertruck to comply with US road safety regulations and is seen in many other electric vehicles. However, it has received some criticism from Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself. In December 2021, he tweeted that the wiper was "what troubles me most" and suggested a deployable version that stowed in the front trunk instead.

The Cybertruck vehicle is still in development, meaning the model and windshield wiper shown in the video may not be implemented in the final product. A release date for the vehicle has also been pushed back three times. Due to design changes, the release date for the truck was pushed back to early 2023.
