The 2023 Honda Accord has been awarded the highest possible rating of Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

This rating was given after the Accord performed exceptionally well in six out of seven assessed categories, including the newly introduced nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention test. The 2023 Accord is one of the few vehicles to have passed this test.

The Accord's standard front crash prevention system was rated superior in the daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian avoidance test, while an advanced rating was given for the nighttime counterpart. The Accord's pedestrian safety rating is also exceptional, making it a top contender in the market.

The Honda Sensing suite of safety features is standard on every Accord model, and includes the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), and Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Pedestrian Detection.

The 2023 Honda Accord is not the only Honda model to receive the TSP+ rating, with the CR-V, HR-V, and Odyssey also receiving the accolade. The Civic Hatchback and Sedan have earned a TSP rating, with the exception of the new Civic Type R. However, the 2023 Honda Pilot has yet to be evaluated by the IIHS.
