A rare 2014 Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4 built by NEVS has recently come up for auction, marking a unique opportunity for Saab enthusiasts.

The vehicle is one of only 451 gasoline-powered cars produced by NEVS before it switched to producing electric vehicles. The car has less than 3,000 kilometres on the odometer and is up for sale on Bilweb's auction site.

NEVS AB acquired Saab's assets and resumed production of the 9-3, with most of the vehicles being electric. However, the company produced a limited run of gasoline-powered vehicles, including this 2014 Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4. These NEVS cars received updates and differed slightly from the previous GM version. The car comes with a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission and a choice of silver or black paint.

Although the idea of an updated 2014 Saab 9-3 might seem strange, NEVS's history is even more unusual. NEVS stood for National Electric Vehicle Sweden and was backed by the China Evergrande Group to produce electric cars. NEVS resumed production of the revised 9-3 while working to procure batteries and electric motors. However, NEVS stopped using the Saab name in 2016, which hurt its brand recognition. The company was searching for a new owner by late 2021 and eventually closed its doors.

The auction currently has a bid of 235,000 SEK or $22,942 USD and is open until 11:00 on May 11. it's an excellent opportunity for collectors to acquire a rare piece of automotive history.
