The 1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 with 28,000 original miles has received its first wash in 12 years. The owner plans to take it cruising with the t-tops off, wearing her denim jacket and aviator shades.

The Camaro Z28 offered a lot of performance for its time with its reliable 5.0 and 5.7-liter V8s that made between 190 and 240 horsepower. Though not as impressive today, it was a revelation back then, and the car is still enjoyable to drive.

The black and gold Camaro was originally purchased by the owner's dad and had only been driven 28,000 miles when it developed a knock and was parked for 12 years. The original engine was replaced with a Summit Racing V8 and FiTech electronic fuel injection.

The WD Detailing crew took on the job of cleaning the Camaro, revealing the original black paint and gold trim. The "basket-weave" style wheels from a Pontiac Trans Am of the same era, though not original, looked great on the car.

The interior was a different story, showing signs of being lived in by a family of mice. Though not as bad as some infested cars, it was a reminder that any car parked for an extended period could become a haven for critters.

After being cleaned up, the Camaro looks ready for a cruise night or an early morning run to a local cars and coffee event. The owner plans to take it out with the t-tops off, wearing her denim jacket and aviator shades.
