In a recent press release, Volkswagen provided a tantalizing glimpse of the ID.7 GTX through a three-photo collage, showcasing some of its distinctive design elements. The sporty sedan will feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, delivering both enhanced performance and superior traction on the road. Volkswagen also describes it as a "long-distance limousine".
Drawing inspiration from previous GTX models such as the ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX, the ID.7 GTX will boast striking red and black accents. These touches will be evident in the contrast stitching on the seats, dash panel, and door cards, as well as the black gloss elements on the exterior.
While specific details regarding power, acceleration, and range are yet to be revealed, it is expected that the ID.7 GTX will compete with formidable rivals such as the Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Tesla Model 3.
Currently available in rear-wheel drive configurations, the base ID.7 comes equipped with an 82-kilowatt-hour battery, providing an estimated range of 382 miles (615 kilometers). The upper trim level, ID.7 Pro S, features a larger 91-kWh battery, offering an estimated range of 435 miles (700 km). Both variants can be fast-charged at impressive rates, with the Pro model supporting up to 170 kW and the Pro S model accepting up to 200 kW.
