The Baojun Yep is a 3-door 4-seater EV, measuring 3381/1685/1721 mm in length, width, and height, respectively. It weighs 1006 kg and features a single rear 50 kW motor with a peak torque of 140 Nm. The top speed is limited to 100km/h, with a 4WD variant set to be available later. The Yep will come equipped with aluminum wheels and offer two tire options: 195/60/R15 and 205/65/R15.
The standout feature of the Baojun Yep is its retro-styled aluminum roof racks, adding a touch of nostalgia and practicality to the design. These roof racks can carry up to 30kg of load, making it convenient for outdoor enthusiasts to transport their gear.
Baojun Yep boasts an array of appealing features. The massive Apple Watch-styled LCD screen on the rear allows the owner to share messages with other drivers, promoting connectivity and personal expression. Alongside the retro roof racks, the Yep offers a range of cool color options and even includes skateboards, catering to the vibrant personalities of its target audience.
The 303 km CLTC range of the Baojun Yep is made possible by its LFP battery. It will also feature an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) called Lingxi, developed by renowned drone maker DJI. Baojun's innovative approach continues with the inclusion of a unique 'refrigerator-like' rear door, which opens on a vertical hinge to the side.
Priced at approximately 100,000 yuan (14,400 USD), the Baojun Yep will be manufactured at the SGMW plant in Chongqing, where other popular Baojun models are produced.
