The moose test, conducted by Teknikens Värld, simulates a scenario where a driver needs to avoid a moose suddenly appearing on the road. To be successful, the model needs to go through the cones successfully at 72 km/h (45 mph).

The Volvo V60 subjected to this test is equipped with the B4 diesel engine and comes in the Inscription trim level. With its twin-turbo four-cylinder engine and mild-hybrid assistance, the V60 generates 194 horsepower. This power allows the wagon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 miles per hour) in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).

During the moose test, Teknikens Värld loaded the V60 to its gross weight limit and evaluated its performance at different speeds. At 72 km/h (45 mph), the stability control system effectively minimized body roll, and the vehicle demonstrated great maneuverability through the cones. As the entrance speed increased to 74 km/h (46 mph), the V60 maintained control, showcasing its stability and responsiveness.

Volvo's moose test triumph with the V60 reinforces the brand's unwavering commitment to safety and provides customers with peace of mind knowing they are driving a vehicle.
