VinFast, the Vietnamese car manufacturer, has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) to bring its in-vehicle streaming service to the United States this summer.

Developed by Sony, the streaming service, known as RIDEVU, will enhance the infotainment systems of VinFast vehicles. With RIDEVU, VinFast owners will have access to a wide range of films and series, including popular titles like "Spider-Man: No Way Home," "Bullet Train," "Uncharted," and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage."

Sony's RIDEVU system is designed to integrate with vehicle screens and personal devices, allowing for multiscreen usage. It supports up to six devices simultaneously, offering compatibility with Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV, and Linux. Powered by Amazon Web Services cloud technology, the system ensures a smooth streaming experience. Additionally, certain vehicles will support up to 4K resolution, providing a high-quality visual experience.

To ensure widespread accessibility, VinFast will equip newly-delivered vehicles with the RIDEVU system. Existing VinFast owners will also receive an over-the-air update, enabling them to enjoy the streaming service on their vehicles. RIDEVU includes timed content recommendations for shorter trips and features DTS audio for an immersive sound experience.

Sony Pictures Entertainment's senior vice president for digital sales and distribution, Pete Wood, expressed excitement about the collaboration with automakers in developing innovative consumer services. Wood stated, "With cars now equipped with the power and connectivity of modern computers, the potential for in-vehicle entertainment and services is virtually limitless."

While other car manufacturers utilizing the streaming platform have not been announced, it is expected that Afeela, the car manufacturer created by Sony and Honda, will also integrate RIDEVU into their vehicles.
