Just weeks after Tesla introduced the new Track Pack for the Model S Plaid, allowing the electric vehicle to reach top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h), CarWow took it to the renowned Circuit Paul Ricard in France for a test drive.

While a full review from the popular YouTube channel is yet to come, a short 30-second clip gives us a glimpse of the exhilarating experience. The video showcases the Model S Plaid effortlessly surging to its claimed top speed along one of the circuit's long straights. Witnessing a sedan like the Model S Plaid hit 200 mph is undeniably impressive, and this clip is particularly remarkable because it demonstrates how easily the EV achieves such velocity.

Granted, the clip only displays the car's speedometer reading, lacking a GPS-verified measurement. Nevertheless, one can't help but wonder if the Model S Plaid has even more speed to offer.

In fact, a Canadian company called Ingenext broke the 200 mph mark in a Model S Plaid last year. By developing a new software system that bypassed the EV's speed limiter, achieved a speedometer-indicated 216 mph (350 km/h), potentially slightly lower when compared to GPS readings. This accomplishment suggests that the EV's capabilities might exceed Tesla's claims.

The recently launched Track Pack for the Model S Plaid not only unlocks the 200 mph top speed but also enhances the car's performance with features like aluminum forged wheels, high-performance tires, improved brake fluid, and upgraded brakes complete with carbon-silicon carbide discs, new pads, six-piston front calipers, and four-piston rear calipers.

With the Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack, speed enthusiasts have another reason to rejoice as it combines cutting-edge electric power with remarkable acceleration and high-speed capabilities. Tesla continues to push boundaries, providing an exciting and exhilarating driving experience for EV enthusiasts worldwide.

The Tesla Model S Plaid Track Package is priced between $15,000 and $20,000. It will be available in June 2023.
