Apple plans to update the Visual Lookup feature in iOS 17 to recognize auto symbols on the iPhone.

The Visual Lookup feature uses the iPhone's camera to identify objects and provide more context. With the update, the iPhone will be able to identify and provide information about car dashboard symbols and buttons.

Users can take a photo of their car interior or a specific part of it, and the iPhone will identify the symbols and display their meanings. The feature will be available by default on iPhones with an internet connection, and Siri will provide suggested websites for additional context.

The expansion of Visual Lookup to car symbols is currently available in the developer beta of iOS 17, with a public beta expected to be released soon. The stable iOS 17 update is scheduled to be released in September, and all non-beta iPhones will receive the updated Visual Lookup feature.
