Stellantis, the parent company of brands like Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler, is evaluating the possibility of switching to Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its electric vehicles.

Speaking to Reuters, the company confirmed after the latest announcements from Ford and GM that it, too, was evaluating the implementation of Tesla’s charge port. “At this time, we continue to evaluate the NACS standard and look forward to discussing more in the future,” said Stellantis.

Switching to NACS would potentially allow Stellantis EV owners to access Tesla's Supercharger network, which is known for its extensive coverage and reliability.

The NACS standard is gaining support from other companies as well, such as fast-charge operator EVgo, which plans to incorporate NACS connectors into its network.

While Stellantis is considering the NACS standard, it has also emphasized its commitment to providing customers with a seamless charging experience through partnerships with charging providers under its Free2Move Charge brand.
