Subaru is working on adapting its EyeSight family of safety technologies for vehicles equipped with manual transmissions.

The EyeSight system for manual transmission vehicles will offer the same functionality as the system for automatic transmissions, including features like pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and rear sonar warning.

The first application of EyeSight for manual transmission will be in the Japanese version of the Subaru BRZ sports car. Scheduled to debut this fall, the coupe will bring the safety systems listed above onboard a three-pedal BRZ for the first time with more markets to follow.

Subaru aims to achieve zero fatal road accidents among occupants of Subaru vehicles and has delivered over 5.5 million vehicles equipped with EyeSight since its launch in 2008.
