BYD is bringing its electric cars to another European market and will start selling its EVs in Italy. However, the Chinese manufacturer is not launching its usual trio of models there.

BYD will initially focus on the country’s north and is cooperating with three dealer groups. Autotorino, Barchetti and Intergea (via the subsidiaries Theorema and Car Village) will be the first trade partners in Italy, with branches in Milan, Brescia, Verona, Turin and Florence. BYD will expand its distribution network in Italy in July to include Como, Bergamo, Udine, Modena, Trento and Bolzano.

In Italy, however, sales will not start with the familiar trio of models Atto 3, Han and Tang. Instead, the Chinese carmaker will not offer its large electric SUV Tang and will only launch the Atto 3 and Han there for the time being. According to BYD, the Dolphin and Seal will be added to the line-up in the coming months.

On the other hand, the prices for the two premiere models are set: the Atto 3 will start in Italy at 41,990 euros (without IPT tax). The Chinese will charge at least 70,940 euros for the executive version of the Han luxury saloon with metallic paint. The “Emperor Red” and “AI Blue” are even more expensive. The carmaker has yet to reveal the prices for the Seal and Dolphin.

BYD launched its electric cars in France a few days ago. The Chinese manufacturer also offers its electric vehicles in other European markets, such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal.
