This year’s Tour de France, which started on 1 July, marks Skoda’s 20th anniversary as the official main sponsor of the world’s most famous cycling race. This year’s 209 support and organisation vehicles are almost entirely electric.

207 of the 209 Skoda models in use have electric or hybrid drives. The race director Christian Prudhomme leads the field in the so-called “Red Car”, a specially converted Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV. The Tour of France ends on 23 July in Paris.

“We’re delighted to be celebrating two decades of partnership with the prestigious Tour de France. We’ve created lots of exciting content for our We Love Cycling platform, and we’ll be giving fans the chance to win professional bicycles and original Green Jerseys autographed by the racers. At the same time, we’ll be showcasing our modern model portfolio, ideal for our active contemporary explorers and underscoring our commitment to a green electric future.”

The Tour de France is the premier cycling race in the world. Held each summer in France, the Tour lasts approximately three weeks, and millions of people line the roads of France to watch, in addition to billions from around the world tuning in to watch the race.

The 110th Tour de France kicked off in the Basque city of Bilbao on July 1. The riders will compete in 21 stages that will take them through all five French mountain ranges. The final stage arrives at the Champs Élysées on July 23.
