Apple Original Films is producing a currently untitled movie about Formula 1 racing. The film will star Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as the fictional APXGP team's two drivers, and the actors have also been trained to drive the race car.

Apple Original Films has released the first look at the black-and-gold car that will feature in the film, which follows the latest Formula 1 regulations introduced in 2022. The fictional team in the movie is called "APXGP," and it will play a central role. The car used in the film is based on a modified Formula 2 chassis by Mercedes and British racing team Carlin.

The APXGP car features a black-and-gold livery, reminiscent of iconic Lotus F1 cars and the Rich Energy-sponsored Haas car. It carries sponsorships from real companies like IWC, Tommy Hilfiger, and Expensify. Brad Pitt and Damson Idris will portray the team's two drivers, and they have received training to drive the race car. The movie is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for Top Gun: Maverick.

Filming for the movie will take place at the British Grand Prix, with the APXGP team occupying a garage between Mercedes and Ferrari. Professional drivers will pilot the car, while Pitt and Idris will also have seat time to reduce the reliance on CGI.

The movie aims to stay true to real-life Formula 1, and Lewis Hamilton is serving as a producer. No release date has been announced yet.
