A massive collection of 20 vintage Ferraris has recently been unearthed and is now set to go under the hammer at the prestigious RM Sotheby's auction during the highly anticipated 2023 Monterey Car Week in mid-August.

Hidden away in Speedway, Indiana, just across the street from the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, this extraordinary collection of Ferraris was tucked away in a humble barn until 2004. However, disaster struck when Hurricane Charley caused a partial collapse of the structure, prompting the relocation of these automotive treasures to a secure warehouse in Indianapolis, where they have been kept ever since.

Among the most captivating gems in this automotive time capsule is a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Speciale, boasting Pininfarina Superamerica-style coachwork. This particular model holds great historical significance as it was originally sold brand new from the factory to King Mohamed V of Morocco. Additionally, car enthusiasts will be intrigued by the presence of a 1965 Ferrari 275 GTB/6C, which notably participated in the 1966 Targa Florio race, and a 1978 Ferrari 512 BB Competizione, a formidable contender in the renowned 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year. The latter vehicle, expertly piloted by U.S. Ferrari importer Luigi Chinetti, demonstrated its endurance by completing a remarkable 19 hours and 232 laps before retiring.

Unveiling this extraordinary find, RM Sotheby's CEO Rob Myers conveyed his excitement, stating, "Most of these lost Ferraris remain untouched, preserving their purity and original condition since the day they were acquired." As a result, these vintage beauties exude an unmistakable charm, showcasing a generous amount of patina that adds to their allure.

While hidden from the wider world until now, this extraordinary collection was already on the radar of avid Ferrari collectors, who are expected to eagerly seize the opportunity to add these rare vehicles to their cherished possessions. Remarkably, even the badly damaged 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider Series I, a crumpled relic of its former glory, is anticipated to fetch a remarkable sum at the auction, with estimates ranging between $1.2 million and $1.6 million.
