Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Design Fully Revealed: Get a Sneak Peek at the Hot EV Inside and Out

Hyundai is gearing up for the highly anticipated debut of the Ioniq 5 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 13. However, Hyundai's Australian division surprised everyone by releasing a comprehensive walkaround video showcasing the design of the Ioniq 5 N.

The Ioniq 5 N, presented in Performance Blue with striking red accents, closely resembles the production-ready prototype observed during recent final testing. This electric crossover rides on 21-inch two-tone wheels adorned with 275/35 ZR21 tires and proudly showcases red brake calipers featuring the N logo. The vehicle boasts a more aggressive body design, incorporating additional air intakes in the front bumper and vented rear fenders, exuding a sporty and dynamic presence on the road.

The exterior enhancements continue with glossy black side mirror caps, a chunky roof spoiler, a rear wiper, and a trapezoidal third brake light that replaces the wide bar found on the non-N model. Notably, the Ioniq 5 N exhibits a slightly reduced ground clearance, indicating a stiffer suspension setup and a lower ride height for improved handling. Furthermore, a rear diffuser with an integrated fog light in the center fin, along with boomerang-shaped vents, adds to the overall aerodynamic appeal. The pixel theme is subtly incorporated into the red reflectors at the rear, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design.

The walkaround video also provides an enticing glimpse inside the cabin, where the Ioniq 5 N showcases a digital speedometer that boldly reaches up to 300 km/h (186 mph). An N-themed infotainment system demonstrates the EV's performance-focused features, such as the N Drift Optimizer, N Pedal, and N Race modes. Additionally, a dedicated section called N Torque Distribution reveals a rear-biased setup, with 70 percent of the available torque channeled to the rear wheels for enhanced driving dynamics.

Other interior details include a steering wheel adorned with an N badge, replacing the traditional four dots that represent "H" in Morse code. Notably, the steering wheel incorporates an N button, further emphasizing the sporty character of the Ioniq 5 N. A checkered flag pattern on the pedals and side sills catches the eye, adding a touch of racing-inspired aesthetics. The body-hugging front seats feature integrated headrests and an illuminated N logo, accompanied by two holes that potentially serve the purpose of fitting a racing harness.

 

 

Although the walkaround video primarily focuses on the design elements, it regrettably doesn't divulge any specific technical specifications. However, industry expectations suggest that the Ioniq 5 N will feature a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration, delivering a power output close to 600 horsepower. Furthermore, a higher-density battery pack is anticipated, along with additional technological features like simulated engine and gearbox sounds.
