Subaru is set to unveil an update to its popular sports car, the BRZ. The company has teased a "sharper and more focused" version of the BRZ that will be unveiled at the upcoming Subiefest California event.

The current iteration of the BRZ is relatively young, having been launched less than three years ago. However, Subaru is looking to broaden the coupe's appeal by introducing an additional version. It remains unclear whether this will be a limited edition, an optional package, or a permanent addition to the lineup.

In a teaser image released by Subaru, the iconic "BRZ" badge is now highlighted in bright red on the headlights. It may not directly affect performance, but it certainly adds a touch of flair.

Interestingly, the BRZ's sibling, the Toyota GR86, recently received notable updates for the 2024 model year. This begs the question of whether some of these enhancements will find their way into the 2024 Subaru BRZ. The GR86 received a Performance Pack that includes upgraded Brembo brakes with bold red four-piston front calipers and two-piston rear calipers. The Performance Pack also includes Sachs shock absorbers filled with high-pressure nitrogen and oil for improved handling.

The unveiling of the new BRZ variant is scheduled for July 23 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, coinciding with the 2023 Subiefest California event.
