Audi will soon reveal its updated top-of-the-line SUV. The new version will be unveiled in just under two weeks and has been teased with a single image of the recognizable backside, now with updated taillights.

Audi notes that the headlights have also been modified, and that future buyers will be able to choose from additional customization options. That's about all the German automaker is willing to share for now.

The first photos were taken in January. They showed an S Line version with an updated front grille with interlocking U-shaped elements. While discussing prototypes, spy photos have detected modifications in the works for the spicy SQ8 and the even hotter RS Q8, which are expected to continue with V8 power.

Added changes to the bumpers are also on the menu, but nothing to write home about. We also shouldn't expect any significant changes inside since the existing Q8 still looks modern with its three-screen display.

The Volkswagen Group is currently pouring the majority of its R&D budget into electric vehicles, which means that internal combustion engines (ICEs) will not undergo significant changes, particularly during a mid-cycle facelift. For instance, the shared-platform VW Touareg was updated earlier this year with only minor modifications.

The 2024 Audi Q8 debuts on September 5th to compete with the recently updated BMW X6.
