Mercedes-EQ claims that its updated EQB zero-emissions crossover SUV is smarter and fresher thanks to all the subtle enhancements that touch on looks and high-tech features.

The 2024 Mercedes EQB electric SUV debuted with a black grille surface that replaced horizontal chrome lines with numerous MB stars. These stars are in addition to the main one forming the brand emblem. However, if you look from far away, the small three-pointed stars appear as dots.

This pattern is only standard in Electric Art and AMG Line and with the Night Package. Additionally, there is a revised front bumper, slight changes in the taillight design, and various updates in the cockpit. The noticeable ones are the new steering wheel with touch controls and the latest generation of the German company's MBUX infotainment system.

Audiophiles can now get the Burmester surround sound setup as an optional feature that can create four sound experiences (two standard, two can be bought in-vehicle) and an "immersive" Dolby Atmos involvement. The central display is now available as standard.

Mercedes offers a Mercedes me Charge Plug & Charge feature. When the charging cable is plugged in at plug & charge-enabled public charging points, the charging process begins automatically, and customers don't need to authenticate themselves because the station and vehicle communicate via the charging cable directly.

Smartphone users also get more convenient access - Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now both wireless. In addition, the enhanced driver assistance sensor array includes a new mono-multi-purpose camera and a new backup camera.

Although Mercedes does not say anything about it in their press release, it seems that the basic version of the EQB has been omitted from the four previous motor/battery combinations. The EQB 250 no longer appears in the data table. This leaves the rear-wheel-drive EQB 250+ with a large 71 kWh battery and the two AWD vehicles, which have to make do with a 67 kWh battery in Germany.

The same three engines are offered in the USA, but there the four-wheel drive vehicles also get the large battery:
