The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and the Suzuki Jimny may be quite different in size, but both are among the most sought-after off-road vehicles today. Digital artist Theottle imagines a Land Cruiser-inspired vehicle with the aesthetics of a Jimny. Please note, however, that this article contains digital renderings that are not affiliated with or approved by Suzuki or Toyota.
The Jimny comes in either a three-door or a five-door configuration. Even the largest version of the Jimny has a length of 3,985 mm (156.9 inches), making it 940 mm (37 inches) shorter than the newest Land Cruiser Prado (J250 series). Even so, the compact and angular design of the Jimny meshes well with the larger dimensions of the Toyota, as showcased by the artist's conceptual images.
The Jumbo
Toyota and Suzuki have a history of rebranding each other’s models for specific global markets. Notable instances include the Suzuki Across, which is a RAV4 variant in Europe, the Toyota Starlet in South Africa that's based on the Baleno, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in India, modeled after Suzuki's Grand Vitara.
However, the notion of a Land Cruiser-inspired Suzuki seems unlikely. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado already has a luxury counterpart in the Lexus GX, and Suzuki has typically concentrated on developing smaller, more cost-effective SUVs.
Nonetheless, Theottle's digital artwork might ignite the imagination of die-hard Suzuki enthusiasts who are interested in creating a unique, hypothetical top-tier SUV.
