A DeLorean DMC-12 has been spotted on Google Maps, stationary on a local street in Mozart, West Virginia. The car has been parked there since at least November 2021.

Found in the unincorporated community of Mozart, close to Wheeling, West Virginia, the DeLorean is located on Fishers Lane. It is situated near a utility pole and not far from a vacated residence. The car's position suggests that someone parked it and never returned to claim it.

The Google Maps street view image is dated November 2021, and based on the condition of this car, it appears to have been left idle for even longer. Foliage partially fills its louvered rear hatch, and the small window appears to be ajar, exposing the car's interior to the elements. Nevertheless, the stainless steel exterior of the DeLorean seems well-preserved and would only require a thorough cleaning to restore its luster.

Though the street view is almost two years old, a 2023 satellite image confirms that the DeLorean is still present. A closer look at the intersection of Fishers Lane, Hercules Lane, and Cerra Drive reveals the car's silhouette remains visible.

The location is an unlikely spot for someone to leave behind a DeLorean. The satellite image shows that Fishers Lane ends roughly 500 feet north of where the car is parked. The narrow road is flanked by humble homes and Mozart itself consists mainly of such residences, interspersed with a few small businesses and a volunteer fire station.

The DeLorean DMC-12 is a sports car that was manufactured by the DeLorean Motor Company from 1981 to 1983. It's most famous for its iconic stainless steel exterior and gull-wing doors. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car was intended to be a high-performance vehicle but only had a V6 engine that produced 130 horsepower. The DMC-12 gained immense popularity after its appearance as a time machine in the "Back to the Future" film series. Despite its fame, the car was plagued by production delays and financial difficulties, leading to the company's bankruptcy. Only about 9,000 units were ever produced.
