Cupra has created a new special edition of its sporty SUV. It still has 390 hp, but is equipped with exclusive components.

Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT, based on the top version with Audi 's glorious in-line five-cylinder engine: the 2.5 TFSI. In the case of the Cupra, it delivers 390 hp. 10 hp less than in the Audi models themselves.

This version, limited to 500 units, is characterized by its black finish. Both outside and inside. The 20-inch alloy wheels, mirror caps, exhaust tips, roof rails and emblems are all painted black. Inside, the dark tone continues on the bucket seats that are standard on the VZ5 BAT, as well as on the air vents and center console trim.

As a contrast in color, the brake calipers stay copper on this SUV. It's important to note that this vehicle comes with only the 7-speed DSG and 4Drive all-wheel drive through a Haldex multi-plate clutch. It's also supplemented by a rear axle differential with variable torque distribution.

The 390 horsepower engine provides impressive driving performance, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds and electronically limiting the top speed to 250 km/h. As for fuel consumption, it is expected to be around 10.1-10.2 liters per 100 km according to WLTP standards.

“This is a car that shatters perceptions with its enriched black in black look. Its exterior additions increase its powerful and sporty aesthetic, while the darker interior creates an even more emotional driving experience.” said Sven Schuwirth, COO of CUPRA.

Surely you may be wondering about the price for the Cupra Formentor VZ5 BAT, but unfortunately it is not yet available in the configurator. However, based on the standard VZ5's price of around €70,000, you can expect a starting price of at least €75,000.
