Mini today unveiled the next generation Cooper EV. It's all-electric and packed with a host of new features, including remote monitoring via an app.

The Remote 360 option allows the MINI App to view the area around the parked Mini Cooper. An interior camera provides a view of the interior. In addition, the Snapshot function offers the opportunity to capture shared moments in a photo and upload it directly to the smartphone via WiFi-Direct.

Another interesting feature is the MINI Digital Key Plus option, which also uses the smartphone to provide a convenient and personalized in-car experience. In this case, the smartphone acts as a key, enabling the car to be opened automatically.

The welcome projection of the front and rear lights begins when the driver is within three meters of the car; the doors are unlocked when the driver is within one and a half meters. The digital key can be transferred to other users and replaces the traditional car key for easier car sharing.

As we reported in a previous Mini-related article, the new electric Mini Cooper will be available in two versions: Cooper E and Cooper SE. Production of the new EV is scheduled to begin later this year. Prices for the Cooper SE start at 32,900 Euros, while the Cooper S will be available from 36,900 Euros.
