For the first time, tuning brand Mugen has teamed up with Casio to release a special edition watch.

When it comes to enhancing Honda vehicles, Mugen often comes to mind. The independent modification firm, established by the child of Honda's founder, boasts an extensive and remarkable track record of teaming up with Honda. Whether it's developing V10 engines for Formula 1 in the 90s or crafting an aerodynamic package for the newest Civic, Mugen has become a go-to source for Honda performance parts.

This longstanding partnership is now being honored through a limited edition wristwatch, created by Honda’s long-time collaborators Casio Edifice. While Honda and Casio have jointly released multiple watches in the past, this is the inaugural collaboration involving Mugen.

The timepiece, designated ECB40MU-1A, encapsulates the significant achievements that both Honda and Mugen have accomplished over the years. This includes their foray into Formula 1 as engine providers, their victories in the Isle of Man TT, and ongoing involvement in various motorsports.

Designed with a carbon fiber-reinforced resin case, similar to the material used in the latest G-Shocks, the watch promises a comfortable fit. The structure of the case is said to draw inspiration from Formula 1 suspension systems.

The watch's face is made of sapphire crystal, a popular choice among watch enthusiasts for its scratch resistance. Moreover, the bezel markings are engraved in the identical font that Mugen utilizes for its gear shift knobs. The strap is made of Alcantara and features the Mugen insignia, along with tri-color stitching in white, red, and gold, which are the brand's signature colors.

These colors also embellish the dial, with three horizontal bars running across the black background. The hands are tipped in red, and the Mugen emblem is prominently displayed at the 3 o'clock position. The case back also features engravings, and the watch is Bluetooth-enabled. While it doesn’t have emergency call functions in the event of a vehicle accident, it can connect to a smartphone. Once paired, the watch can self-correct its time, and users can manage world time and alarms through an accompanying app.

Though Casio labels the watch as a limited edition, the exact number of units to be produced has not been disclosed. For those in the U.S., the Edifice Mugen Edition is available for purchase on the company’s website for $300.
