After three years of operations in Europe, Xpeng is now preparing to enter one of the world's most competitive automotive markets.

Xpeng will enter the German market next year. The Chinese EV maker shared an update on its international operations at IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich.

"Today represents an important step on our international expansion journey," says Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and Co-President of Xpeng. "Xpeng is entering one of the most competitive automotive markets in the world, with customers that expect the absolute highest standards; we want to introduce a new level of sophistication with impressive technology that will define the new smart mobility era."

Xpeng plans to leverage its in-house R&D capabilities and experience to build a "global smart EV" brand with industry-leading hardware and software. In July, Xpeng and the Volkswagen Group entered into a long-term strategic partnership that will enable both parties to explore long-term cooperation opportunities.

In Germany, Xpeng plans to sell through traditional dealers and is in talks with several major networks.

Along with the announcement, Xpeng launched the official German website: heyxpeng.com/de. The site currently features information on two electric cars: the P7 sedan and the G9 SUV (pictured above).
