Now available for purchase in the United Kingdom, the Volkswagen Golf Black Edition aims to bring a sleeker look to the well-known hatchback. The starting price is set at 31,985 pounds (37,295 euros).

Positioned between the R-Line and GTE variants in the UK Golf range, the Black Edition features 18-inch Bergamo-style black wheels. These wheels have five curved spokes that branch into a Y formation at the outer edge.

In addition, the Black Edition includes the Winter Pack, typically an add-on, with heated front seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other features include a rear-view camera and advanced LED Plus headlights, along with rear windows that come tinted.

According to VW, equipping the Black Edition with these features would typically add 2,900 GBP to the price of the R-Line version. Nonetheless, this particular edition is priced 1,500 GBP higher.

Customers have the option to choose from three different powertrain configurations. One is a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine that delivers 150 horsepower and comes with a six-speed manual transmission. A mild-hybrid iteration of this engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission. Lastly, a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is available, generating 190 hp and equipped with an automatic transmission as well as 4Motion all-wheel drive.
