While the YangWang U6 has yet to make its official debut, it recently made an appearance in patent drawings that unveil its entire exterior design. Though BYD remains tight-lipped about specific details of this upcoming model, its name and outstanding drag coefficient were revealed during the Academic Annual Conference Of The Automotive Aerodynamics Committee in China.
During the presentation, a profile image of the U6 and the remarkable 0.195 cd figure were showcased, alongside a chart highlighting the 10 most aerodynamic vehicles currently in production. This presentation solidifies the YangWang U6's position at the top of the list if it manages to deliver on its promised performance. As with other models, achieving this record-breaking figure might require a specific trim with special equipment such as mirror-replacing cameras and aero wheel covers.

From the patent drawings, it's evident that the U6 boasts a stretched, low-slung silhouette and a gracefully sloping roofline. The large headlights bear a resemblance to those of the YangWang U9, positioned above a prominent splitter. Additional design elements include Taycan-style fenders, a low nose, oversized side gills, a black-painted roof, chrome-infused windows, and an active rear spoiler. While the patent drawings indicate conventional mirrors, mirror-replacing cameras may be offered as an option. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is also visible, and previous spy shots from China revealed a trio of displays on the dashboard.

Although specific measurements for the YangWang U6 are currently unavailable, its proportions appear to be similar to the 4,980 mm (196 inches) long BYD Chaser 07, although it may have a larger footprint. Reports from China suggest that the sedan may be offered in both BEV and PHEV variants, given BYD's versatile architecture. The fully electric version is likely to feature YangWang's quad-motor setup, delivering over 1,100 hp (820 kW / 1,115 PS) of power. There's also speculation about equipping the sedan with the sophisticated Disus-X suspension system found in its supercar, though no official confirmation has been provided at this stage.
According to Chinese media, the YangWang U6 is expected to be priced around ¥800,000 ($108,923), making it a more budget-friendly option compared to the Tesla Model S Plaid, which costs ¥1,028,900 ($140,089) in China. This competitive pricing positions the U6 favorably against electric flagship offerings from European automakers like the BMW i7 and Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan.
