Fisker is ramping up production of its all-electric Ocean SUV starting this month. A daily production rate of 300 vehicles is expected by October. So far, about 180 Fiskers have been built daily, with a total of 3,123 produced by contract manufacturer Magna.

The production increase affects all European markets, which currently include Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, as well as the Canadian and the U.S. markets. For the U.S., deliveries to customers have been "steady and are expected to accelerate in September with the arrival of several ocean-going vessels".

“Our customers and reservation holders are always our priority, and we’re thanking everyone for their patience as we begin the ramp up of daily production of the Fisker Ocean this month and through the fourth quarter,” said Chairman and CEO Henrik Fisker, adding: “Over 3,000 vehicles have been built to date, and we’ll soon be moving to approximately 300 vehicles per day with our manufacturing partner, Magna. In lock step with this, customer deliveries will be expanding even more in the United States – from the East Coast to various other regions.”

Fisker also pointed to its Lounges and Center + locations that have opened in Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Düsseldorf, London, Munich and Oslo to provide retail, delivery and service operations for expansion in key regions in the coming months. In addition, new markets are being targeted with Canada, in line with newly added markets in Europe, including Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Fisker adds that additional details will be announced in the near future.

The renewed production efforts come as a bit of a surprise, as Fisker announced earlier this year that it would have to lower its production targets to just 20,000 to 23,000 vehicles in 2023. This is more than 50 percent less than originally planned. This was preceded by another production target downgrade in May 2023. This means that the new upgrade is still slightly below the original production targets.
