The classic car is powered by a 2.0-liter M10 inline four-cylinder engine, which is equipped with a single-throttle system and an Alpina manifold. Additional upgrades from Manhart include a K&N airbox and smaller hardware improvements, resulting in a substantial bump in engine performance. The original engine produced about 130 horsepower and 178 Newton-meters (131 lb-ft) of torque. Manhart's tweaks have increased these figures to 200 horsepower and 215 Nm (158 lb-ft) of torque.
Although 200 hp might not sound groundbreaking by contemporary standards, it's worth noting that the vehicle weighs roughly 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds). Alongside the horsepower bump, the car also gets a new exhaust system from Manhart, providing a richer sound. The car's stopping power is also enhanced, thanks to a brake system upgrade derived from the E21 generation's 323i model.

But the upgrades don't end with power and braking. Manhart Classic Cars has added a KW Raab coilover suspension for sharper handling, allowing the driver to make the most of the car's increased power. A Wiechers strut brace further improves body rigidity, adding to the vehicle's stability and precision in handling.
To round it off, the BMW 2002 tii rolls on 215/40 R16 front and 225/40 R16 rear tires. These are fitted on authentic Alpina multi-spoke wheels that are 8x16 inches in dimension. Thanks to 25-mm spacers on both the front and rear, the wheels are perfectly situated under the fenders. Customers also have the option for a customized wheel finish.
Another visual highlight are the decorative stripes and lettering of the characteristic Alpina decal set. It runs in light green and silver over the body, which is painted in BMW's Agave Green color. The bright green of the accent lines on the body is echoed in the interior, where the seats have stripes in this color as well as in blue. The driver and co-driver sit in Scheel sports seats, which were prepared by Manhart Classic Cars. The rear is completed by a Clubsport roll bar.
