Flex Automotive used a previous-generation Toyota Tacoma as the foundation to create the Renoca Windansea, a new addition to their retro-styled Renoca lineup. The vehicle features a specially designed front end influenced by the Land Cruiser 60 Series, all while maintaining the Tacoma's modern conveniences and V6 engine.

Most of the body panels on the side and rear of the original truck are reused, but the Renoca Windansea sets itself apart with its updated front section. The circular headlights framed in unpainted plastic, the rectangular grille featuring Toyota branding, and the steel bumper designs are all nods to the classic J60 Land Cruiser.

Modifications to the front fenders and a flatter hood were also made to integrate the square-shaped front seamlessly with the existing Tacoma structure. While the final appearance may not be as polished as Renoca’s version of the Land Cruiser J100, it definitely adds a distinct and eye-catching look to the well-liked pickup.

The Renoca Windansea sits on a stylish set of black wheels capped with chrome centers, a feature seen in other Renoca projects. Flex Automotive also offers a variety of optional add-ons like side steps, cargo bed racks, and additional lighting options. The interior can be customized further with dashboard coverings, new seat fabric choices, WeatherTech floor mats, and an advanced sound system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Beneath the hood, the standard 3.5-liter V6 engine delivers 278 hp (207 kW) and 264 lb-ft (359 Nm) of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission coupled with a 4WD system. Lift kits are available as an option to boost the pickup’s off-road performance.

The Renoca Windansea, available through Flex Automotive’s San Diego dealership, is aimed specifically at the U.S. market. The starting price is set at $52,800, which includes the cost of the used base vehicle. You might be able to purchase a fully loaded, brand-new fourth-generation Tacoma for around the same price, but the Windansea distinguishes itself with its unique and retro appeal.
