Automobilwoche reports that Seat is not planning a successor to its flagship SUV, the Tarraco. Instead, the Cupra offshoot will get new crossover models.

The midsize SUV has been on the market since 2018 and is built at the Volkswagen Group's Wolfsburg plant, along with the technically closely related VW Tiguan. More precisely, it is the slightly longer twin brother of the VW Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Kodiaq.

The report does not specify when the Tarraco will be discontinued.

With the loss of Seat's largest model, the Spanish company's range for its core brand continues to shrink. Recently, the manufacturer has focused on the sporty lifestyle brand Cupra when introducing new products. Among others, the Cupra Tavascan electric SUV coupe and the Terramar compact hybrid SUV have been announced.

With this in mind, there has been speculation for some time about the end of Seat as a car brand. But the Spanish company denies any such plans.
