The Hilux GR Sport II is available only in a double cab configuration. The suspension lift increases the truck's ride height by 20 millimeters, and the front and rear tracks are widened to 140 mm and 150 mm, respectively. The vehicle sports new 17-inch lightweight wheels fitted with all-terrain tires. The modified truck offers slightly improved off-road capabilities, as the approach angle is bumped up from 29 to 30 degrees.
On top of that, Toyota is adding new monotube dampers for quicker response over rough landscapes. The vehicle also gains improved braking performance due to bigger front disc brakes, while the outdated rear drum brakes are replaced by disc brakes. Minor tweaks in aerodynamics come from new front air curtains, and the rear features a streamlined sport bar and bed cover.

To distinguish it from standard Hilux models, the GR Sport II has a mesh grille, red brake calipers, and multiple dark accents. Inside, the red and black color scheme carries on with GR logos on the front headrests and red seat belts. The truck comes with a standard eight-inch infotainment system that includes built-in navigation and supports both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay, with Android Auto available through a wired connection.

Under the hood, things remain the same. The truck's 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine continues to generate 204 PS and 500 Newton-meters of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In some regions, a more powerful Hilux GR Sport variant is available, delivering 221 hp and 550 Nm of torque.
The updated Hilux GR Sport is set to hit European markets in the first half of 2024, and retailers will start receiving deliveries in the latter half of the year.
