Toyota has announced a number of new vehicles ahead of the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. One of them is a concept version of an all-electric SUV. The novelty has been given the name Toyota Land Cruiser Se.

Toyota says that this model, which appears to be a concept right now, will offer a high-torque battery-electric driving experience and it has three rows of seats. The company also touts how quiet this Land Cruiser is in urban environments and "on-road situations," showing that the focus of this electric offering is definitely the pavement and not getting far off the beaten path.

Interestingly, this is also a monocoque design that Toyota claims makes it responsive and capable in rougher terrain. However, judging by this truck's design, seemingly low ground clearance and low profile tires, that rougher terrain is probably a poorly paved shopping mall parking lot. Dimensionally, this LC is 5,150 mm (202.8 in) long, 1,990 mm wide (78.3 in) and 1,705 mm high (67.1 in), making it nearly identical to the Grand Highlander. It offers seating for seven and has a wheelbase of 3,050 mm (120.1 in).

Toyota hasn't given any other details, nothing about the number of motors, power, or even battery size. But to be competitive with something like a Rivian R1S, this LC will need some pretty robust features, but will also demand a premium price.
