Fresh evidence has emerged suggesting that Ford is diligently working on a new electric vehicle. In the gallery below, you can observe yet another electric crossover in development by the Blue Oval, slated for a debut in the coming year.

Just recently, spies captured images of an upcoming zero-emission SUV from Ford, built on Volkswagen's MEB platform. The prototype we're examining here offers a glimpse of a smaller electric crossover that will become a part of the Puma family. For those unfamiliar, the Puma has taken over as Ford's entry-level offering in the European market following the discontinuation of the Fiesta hatchback.

Ford has officially announced that the Puma EV is set to launch in Europe in 2024, with production taking place at the company's Craiova, Romania plant. This suggests that we are nearing the model's official unveiling, and as evident in the photos, this test vehicle carries components indicative of its production version. Despite being concealed by camouflage, it's safe to assume that its appearance will closely resemble the conventional Puma variants.

The entire Puma lineup is in line for a mid-cycle refresh, with previous spy photos suggesting that most of the visual changes will be concentrated at the front. The electric version is expected to sport a redesigned front fascia with a closed-off design. Not much alteration is anticipated at the rear compared to the pre-facelift Puma.

Official details regarding the electric powertrain for the Puma EV are yet to be disclosed. However, there are reports suggesting that Ford may equip it with the 136-horsepower electric motor found in the E-Transit Courier / E-Tourneo Courier duo, which would power the front axle of the crossover. While the battery capacity remains unannounced, Ford has confirmed its support for 100-kilowatt DC charging. It's worth noting that Ford has other battery and electric motor options at its disposal, leaving open the possibility of a different setup for the Puma EV.
