Thomas Milz, Director of Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen South Africa (VWSA), expressed enthusiasm about the pilot, noting its alignment with Volkswagen's long-term electric vehicle introduction plans. The test aims to evaluate market readiness for commercial electric vehicles like the ID.Buzz Cargo.
DHL Express, aspiring to zero emissions by 2050 in line with the Paris Climate Agreement, intends to incorporate at least 60% electric vehicles in its last-mile delivery fleet by 2030. Jed Michaletos, MD of DHL Express South Africa, highlighted the significance of this partnership in achieving these sustainability goals.
