This model is part of Toyota's ambitious plan to introduce six electric vehicles (EVs) in Europe by 2026. The Sport Crossover will be launched alongside the already known bZ4X and the production versions of the Urban Crossover and Compact Crossover concepts. The company plans to reveal details of the remaining two EVs next year.
The Sport crossover is not a direct replacement for an existing Toyota model, but a new offering. It aims to compete in the luxury D-segment, positioning itself against competitors such as the Volkswagen ID 7 and Hyundai Ioniq 6.

The concept version of the sport crossover presented at the show measures 4.9 meters in length, but this dimension may vary in the final production model.
Toyota has developed this vehicle with its joint venture partner for the Chinese market, BYD. BYD is expected to provide the batteries, similar to its role in the bZ3 sedan in China. However, Toyota has not yet confirmed whether the European models will be manufactured in China.
More technical details about the sports crossover are expected to be revealed next year, coinciding with the unveiling of the final, showroom-ready version and its official naming.
