The first delivery ceremony was held at Zeekr’s center in Zeist, Netherlands.
“Incredibly proud of the amazing Zeekr Europe team that has made this possible,” commented Zeekr European CEO Spiros Fotinos, who personally attended the event.
Zeekr began the presale of two models in June: the Zeekr 001 and the Zeekr X mid-size SUV. These vehicles were priced at 59,490 euros and 44,990 euros, respectively, in the Netherlands and Sweden. The first 001 model specifically for Europe was manufactured in China and shipped to Europe in late August.
Zeekr aims to expand to four European countries by 2024 and establish a presence in eight countries globally by 2025. The brand currently operates stores in China, the Netherlands, and Sweden, offering test drives of both the X and 001 models.
Zeekr is part of the Geely Group, a major Chinese automotive company. Geely has successfully introduced several EV brands in Europe, including Lynk&Co, Polestar, and Lotus, and is now extending its reach with Zeekr.
In China, Zeekr offers three models: the 001 shooting brake, the 009 MPV, and the X SUV. While the 009 MPV won’t be available in Europe, a similar model under the Volvo brand might be introduced. In November, Zeekr's sales in China grew by 23% from the previous year, reaching 13,104 EVs. From January to November 2023, the company has delivered a total of 102,752 units.
In China, the 001 model comes in six different trims, with options for rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and batteries ranging from 86 to 140 kWh. For the European market, Zeekr has introduced three versions: a Long Range RWD with a 200 kW motor and a 620 km range, and two AWD versions with 400 kW motors, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a range of 590 km.
