Tesla has added a new option to its Paint Protection Film (PPF) wraps, giving Model 3 and Model Y owners more choices for personalization.

The new Satin Abyss Blue shade is an attractive alternative to the standard five colors available for these models. Currently, you can find it on the Tesla Shop for $6,000, joining seven other finishes introduced in 2023. This option offers an upscale dark blue appearance compared to the sportier Deep Blue Metallic paint option, which costs $1,000.

In terms of pricing, Satin Abyss Blue is now on par with Glacier Blue, Forest Green, Satin Rose Gold, and Crimson Red. For those looking for something a bit more affordable, Slip Gray, Satin Stealth Black, and Satin Ceramic White are priced at $5,700.

It appears that Tesla has adjusted its vinyl wrap pricing. When these color options first launched in October, they ranged from $7,500 to $8,000. Tesla seems to have recognized the need for more competitive pricing.

Regardless of the cost, it's great to see Tesla expanding its range of choices for customers. The company has faced criticism for its limited color selection, which currently includes only five options. However, there are some important details to note if you're considering getting a vibrant PPF wrap.

Tesla specifies that this option is available only for 2023 and newer vehicles. If you own an older model, unfortunately, this choice won't be available to you.

As for the higher price, Tesla claims that this PPF wrap is more environmentally friendly compared to traditional vinyl wraps and is also two times thicker. The urethane-based film is self-healing and provides protection against scratches. Additionally, the price includes installation, and Tesla offers customers a courtesy car during the process.
