The Next-Gen Lancia Ypsilon Revealed Ahead of February Unveiling

The updated Lancia Ypsilon has been unveiled in all its glory during a promotional shoot in Italy, shedding its camouflage and giving us a clear look at the new model set to hit the market later this year.

Lancia has been selling the outgoing Ypsilon since 2011, and it's safe to say that it was overdue for a refresh. Thankfully, the new-generation model has undergone a complete transformation and bears no resemblance to its predecessor. In fact, it's a remarkably attractive hatchback.

This particular example is elegantly finished in a deep shade of blue, complemented by sleek black accents. The front end features a distinctive split LED light bar with a small central element running vertically. The primary headlamp units are positioned slightly lower on the fascia, accompanied by a black grille.

Moving to the sides, we notice the new hatchback riding on glossy black wheels with silver highlights. The robust C-pillars also sport a glossy black finish. The blue and black theme continues at the rear, featuring a black roof spoiler and a black decklid housing a prominent Lancia logo. Circular LED taillights add a modern touch to the car's appearance.

These photos also offer a glimpse of the car's interior, showcasing a digital instrument cluster and a large landscape-oriented infotainment display. Lancia has designed an intriguing center console, featuring a spacious circular pad reminiscent of the helicopter pad attached to the side of Dubai's Burj Al Arab hotel.

Lancia has officially confirmed that the new Ypsilon will be available in hybrid and battery-electric variants. The electric version is expected to share components with the Jeep Avenger and Peugeot e-208, likely featuring a 154 hp electric motor powered by a 54 kWh battery pack.
