Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot has learned to fold a T-shirt, as demonstrated in a new video by Elon Musk. The billionaire also shared some additional information.

Musk stated that ultimately, the robot will be capable of performing these and other tasks autonomously, without the artificial constraints imposed for this demonstration, such as a fixed-height table and a single piece of clothing in the basket.

The capabilities demonstrated by Optimus at this point are carefully planned and pre-programmed actions. They primarily showcase the impressive functionality of its joints, servo motors, and limbs, with less emphasis on the robot's artificial intelligence.

Tesla had previously explained that one of the most challenging aspects of the humanoid robot is its hands. They need to be strong enough to handle significant loads while also being precise enough to handle delicate objects.

The company has mentioned its plans to soon integrate the robot into its own manufacturing operations. Once the robot proves its utility, Tesla will start selling it.
