Mazda was one of the few remaining NACS holdouts, but the Tesla-designed charging port will appear on an EV in 2025.

Although Mazda no longer offers electric vehicles in the United States, they are making strides to embrace the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

While specific details are yet to be disclosed, Mazda confirmed that electric vehicles introduced in North America starting 2025 will incorporate Tesla's charging port. This strategic move aims to provide customers with a more extensive array of charging options and enhanced convenience by granting access to over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers throughout North America.

Mazda's decision to join the ranks of BMW, Ford, General Motors, and the Volkswagen Group signifies a noteworthy shift in the industry. Stellantis may soon follow suit, given the dramatic transformations witnessed in the past year.
