The top version of the updated Škoda Octavia has from the factory a sports exhaust with black tailpipes and a truly (as the manufacturer claims) "powerful sound".

The updated Škoda Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0 TSI engine with an output of 195 kW (265 hp). This is 15 kW (20 hp) more than the pre-reform version of the model. The maximum torque reaches 370 Nm. The gearbox is a non-alternative 7-speed DSG gearbox

The RS version from the factory has a sports suspension, thanks to which it is 15 millimetres lower than other Octavia. There is also progressive steering and an electronically controlled self-locking differential.

Apart from the lowered suspension and black exhaust pipes, the RS version can be distinguished from its counterparts by other glossy black details. These are grille frame, window frames and exterior mirror housings. In Octavia Combi RS version roof rails are also painted in glossy black colour. This is complemented by original bumpers with more aggressive design, a red reflective stripe on the rear bumper across the width of the car and wheels up to 19 inches.

The RS is the only version of the Octavia that gets LED Matrix headlights as standard. In other Octavia variants, such headlights are available as an optional extra. The lighting package is complemented by LED tail lights with animated turn indicators.

The interior of the sporty Škoda Octavia has richer equipment than the base model. The basic equipment includes a 13-inch centre display with navigation system and an automatically lifting boot lid for the Combi RS station wagon. The sports seats with integrated headrests are decorated with red decorative stitching.

The front fascia trim has double contrasting red stitching. The decorative stripes on the inside of the doors are painted in gloss black and the centre line of the front panel is made of carbon fibre. The multifunctional sports steering wheel is covered in leather. The pedals are decorated with stainless steel pads.

In the optional Design Selection RS Lounge version, the sports seats have perforated microfibre and synthetic leather covers with red contrast stitching on the seat and backrest. The electrically adjustable front seats with memory function also offer seat depth adjustment, adjustable lumbar support and massage function as standard. A combination of microfibre and synthetic leather can also be found in the Design Selection RS Lounge door panels.

The manufacturer has not yet commented on prices or market launch dates for the updated Škoda Octavia and Škoda Octavia RS.
